OD, change and organisational effectiveness

work

OD can take many forms, from incremental to large scale interventions to improve organisational effectiveness. Many change and OD initiatives are unsuccessful and the key to successful interventions is to effectively diagnose the situation, and identify the appropriate solution based on the evidence of what works. IES can help you in a number of ways:

  • help organisations understand what OD is and how they might use it effectively
  • diagnose organisational situations using rigorous evidence-based approaches and tools (such as cultural audits, employee engagement diagnosis, skills audits, leadership capability review, stakeholder perspective assessments and employee value chain analysis)
  • collaboratively design and facilitate organisational interventions choosing from the range of possibilities using the available evidence base. OD programmes might include elements such as culture and vision workshops, action learning sets, open space and appreciative enquiry approaches, and developing strengths based cultures.
  • measure and evaluate the success of OD initiative using robust, rigorous research methodologies
  • support organisations build the capacity for change through evidence-based research and diagnostic tools. We can also help managers understand the psychological impact of change and suggest tools and techniques to manage the process more effectively.
  • examine the link between people and organisational performance.
