IES supported the IDeA (the Improvement and Development Agency) in a consortium approach to improving the practical application of succession planning in local authorities. Wendy Hirsh of IES worked with two county councils and two, much smaller, district councils in developing their own approaches to succession and talent management. Service managers as well as HR Managers were fully involved in the learning set meetings and the development of succession planning in their own authorities.
