Emerging HR Leaders Programme

Who will benefit from this programme?

HR managers who have just stepped up to a senior role in an HR, OD or L&D function, or are looking to make that step.

This is a residential course, running over four Friday/Saturdays during a six month period.

What are the outcomes?

  • Become more confident in the quality of your management strategy, decisions and interventions.
  • Create competitive advantage by being challenged in your thinking and more creative in your solutions.
  • Build a supportive network of peer colleagues.
  • Help your organisation achieve more and ensure that the HR function has the influence that it needs.
  • Develop your own leadership style based around your natural strengths.

working for employers

You’re approaching the top level of HR leadership. Your training, skills and experience have got you so far. But from this point on, the hand-holds are few and far between, each decision more critical, the way less clear.

Yet it’s now, arguably just when you need it most, that the personal support and training options dry up. The Emerging HR Leaders Programme bridges that gap.

Specifically designed to help people advance to the top level of HR leadership, the Programme enables you to identify your own strengths and leadership style, and define how you want to develop.

The programme

At the core of this six-month programme is a challenging project that each participant has identified as being at the heart of their development. This would normally be a major project they are undertaking in their organisation that is expected to provide a significant challenge over the coming months.

Four two-day residential modules will combine action learning sessions, in which participants support and challenge each other through their projects, with short masterclasses covering HR and business knowledge, personal effectiveness and advanced skills. The content of these masterclasses will be specifically and individually tailored after feedback from participants about what they would like included.

Self-assessment

Before the first residential module, you will be asked to self-assess your current capabilities and prepare a briefing for your development project. This will involve completing an online assessment tool to help identify core behavioural strengths and key motivational drivers.

One-to-one coaching

You will also have a one-hour telephone session with an experienced coach to explore your strengths and motivators. This will form a part of the programme that focuses on developing leadership style. If you find you would like additional support during the programme, one-to-one coaching sessions will be available at preferential rates.
