40 years anniversary seminars

We marked 40 years of advancing knowledge and practice by holding a series of five themed lunchtime seminars in London during the course of 2008-9, aimed at a mixed audience of policy makers and practitioners.

Invited participants joined IES on a journey to explore the evolution of major issues in the field of employment studies, and contribute to the debate on how these are changing to reflect emerging policy and practice priorities.

Along with our own work, IES appointed a Visiting Fellow to each theme, each an eminent academic expert with policy and practice interests, to lead the discussion on each topic. They each delivered a specially commissioned paper reviewing developments in their area, sharing insights and raising questions about current and future challenges.
