HR Directors Retreat 2012event type : Directors retreat an event for IES HR Network members 05 July 2012, 11.30 5 July to 14.00 6 July (event complete) Creating and sustaining high-performing organisations
Retreat venue: the delightful Barnett Hill As organisations move out of the downsizing and efficiency phase, the focus moves on to how to create organisations in which people are able to perform at their best and deliver high levels of organisational success. We would argue, in fact, that this should be the case even during the cost reduction phases and that by neglecting the people in their restructuring activities organisations break psychological contracts and store up problems for themselves in the future. In this, the fifth of our popular HR Directors' Retreats, we will help participants think about how they can support their people and their organisation to deliver high levels of performance. We will cover what the evidence base says about what is needed for high performance, explore the often overlooked dimensions of organisation and work design for delivering high performance, and consider how best to manage the workforce and particularly the relationship between individual and team performance. We will hear from IES speakers about what the evidence base tells us in these areas and from a number of practitioners how they set about the challenge of creating a high-performing organisation. Please note that this event is limited to one attendee from each organisation; typically the HR Director or senior colleague.
