The supply of and demand for skills

part of the broader theme: learning and skills

How skills are defined and acquired and how they are used in the workplace has long been of interest to public policy makers, as well as practising managers. Our work in this area encompasses:

  • analyses of current and future skills needs at national, regional, occupational and sectoral levels including those for emerging economic priority areas such as low carbon energy industry and other parts of a post-recession economy;
  • evaluations of specific interventions and advice on policy choice and design to improve the depth and type of skills supply and use at national, sectoral, regional, occupational and organisational levels;

Together with colleagues in the HR research and consultancy team we can also provide bespoke applied research and consultancy for individual organisations.

If you would like to talk to us about any aspect of our work or more generally about skills and employment issues, do contact us.
