Reducing Dropout from Further Education and Work-based Learning

The Department for Education and Skills (DfES) commissioned this study to explore the reasons why adults leave further education (FE) and work-based learning (WBL) before their course ends. A survey of 2,000 early leavers from long vocational courses, conducted by IES in partnership with BMRB aimed to understand better the reasons for drop out and to identify ways in which retention rates can be improved.
