Collecting data on your workforce and HR and OD team

NHS North West

This part of the project is now closed. Thank you to the 41 HR functions that responded and made this research worthwhile.

We intend to do this every three years. The last collection was in 2008.

Why collect capacity data?

As you know, HR and OD services in the NHS NW are participating in a self-assessment project to gauge where they are on their journey to become world class. As part of the research phase for this project, there is a need to gather comparable and accurate data about the HR community in the NHS North West. This will give a good snapshot of the composition of the HR workforce and enable organisations in the North West to benchmark themselves against this profile.

What benefits will you get from your participation?

All organisations sending their completed spreadsheet to IES in 2008 received a composite report, which gave a snapshot of the composition of the HR and OD community in the NHS North West. In addition, all organisations also participating in the self-assessment project received their own set of data profiled against the regional picture as well as an interpretation of what this may mean against their stakeholder feedback.
