Labour Market Information for Higher Education Institutions: a Guide

Maginn A, Dench S | Report 363 | Institute for Employment Studies | Dec 1999

This guide is written for two groups of people.

First, it is for people in higher education institutions (HEIs) who use, or would like to use, regional and local labour market information in planning activity. It will be of particular use to those involved in strategic, operational and business planning.

It is also designed for agencies who commission and produce regional and local labour market, skills, and economic reports, eg Regional Development Agencies (RDAs). It will help inform the dialogue between such bodies as RDAs, Training and Enterprise Councils (and their successors in Learning and Skills Councils) and the HEIs of their region.
