About IPA

In May 2023 IES merged with the Involvement & Participation Association (IPA). IPA is an operationally independent unit within the Institute for Employment Studies. You can read more about the merger here.

Over its long history IPA has compiled a portfolio of evidence and experience supporting the belief that better workplaces are achieved by fostering trust and collaboration between managers and employees, leading to increased productivity and improved services.

With this focus on the value of employee involvement and participation in the workplace, IPA provides support for organisations developing strategies to strengthen workplace relationships, employee voice, inclusion and engagement.

Working with both unionised and non-unionised organisations of all sizes, across all sectors, IPA provides services including diagnostic reviews of employment relations, employee voice and engagement, and learning and development for leaders, managers and employee representatives.

IPA is a well-respected advocate for employee involvement and plays a key role in bringing together employers, trade unions, academics, and policymakers to discuss important employment issues, and works with policymakers to shape the future of Britain’s workplaces.
