The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) is the data controller for the purposes of this project and is responsible for deciding the purpose and legal basis for processing data.

Who will have access to the information I provide?

IES has been commissioned by CITB to conduct a second phase of research exploring views of careers in construction among potential entrants to the industry and their influencers to provide robust and credible analysis and evidence to support the CITB to develop action plans and to influence policy-makers, employers and other key decision-makers. This second phase of research focuses on four new groups that were identified as promising sources of entrants into construction in phase one. It aims to improve the understanding of these groups, identify innovation and good practices around supporting them into the labour market, and support improvement and progress among practitioners working with these groups.

You will be asked for your consent to take part in the interview or roundtable, to be named as a contributor to the research, and be quoted in the final report. You will have the opportunity to review the quote and the context it is used in prior to granting permission. The research team’s analysis and presentation of the findings will otherwise be at an aggregate level.

How will my data be treated?

If you are invited and choose to take part in an interview or roundtable, the information that you give during the interview or roundtable will be used for research purposes only. IES will produce a report that summarises the main findings from the interviews and roundtables. You will not be named, nor will any information be included that could reveal your identity, unless you provide permission to be named in the report.

Your personal information will be deleted from the IES systems six months after the project is complete and the final report has been published (the project is currently estimated to end in June 2024).

Who can I contact if I would like to withdraw my data?

You have the right to withdraw the information you have provided as part of the interviews or roundtables within fourteen (14) days of your interview date. If you have taken part in an interview or roundtable but would like to withdraw your information, please contact: kate.alexander@employment-studies.co.uk.

CITB will hold your personal data in accordance with the CITB Privacy Notice and any request to delete your personal data will be processed in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Notice which can be found online at citb.co.uk/privacy.
