The term ‘performance management’ is used by different groups in different ways. According to Peter Reilly, an IES principal associate, often the problem is that it is seen as a bureaucratic and mandatory HR process, and suffers from too many potentially competing objectives. As such, the different approaches taken by organisations succeed to varying degrees.
We’ve produced a new infographic that presents tips based on our research and experiences of what organisations can do to make performance management work for them. Peter Reilly’s popular paper containing practical tips for HR has now been condensed into an accessible format that can easily be shared.
