Now an Associate, Linda originally joined IES in 1991 having graduated in Psychology and Computer Models. Until 2010, she was an IES Senior Consultant in the area of human resource management, and was involved in and led many research and consultancy studies for organisations in the public and private sectors.
Her main areas of experience are recruitment and retention, staff attitudes, employee learning and development, and graduates. Linda also led the UK’s leading research that showed how employee attitudes and customer satisfaction can be linked to bottom line business performance measures.
Linda also has extensive experience of labour market research, particularly the graduate labour market. She takes forward the Institute’s work on employers’ demand for graduates and retention issues and developed the IES Graduate Value Chain. She also lead the bi-annual Salaries and Vacancies surveys for the Association of Graduate recruiters for three years.
She has been involved with the design and analysis of numerous attitude surveys and her work in Employee Learning and Development has involved auditing career and development processes. She has also been involved with evaluating internal vacancy filling systems and an MBA programme. During 1999 she also helped evaluate the impact of Investors in People in the Civil Service.
