Project

Sussex Learning Network – Mental Health

Project

Greater London Authority

The GLA wishes to understand the scale and nature of mental health needs in its FE student population. This is a much under-researched area, althought evidence from earlier and later phases of education suggest these needs require consideration. IES will lead a programme of qualitative and quantitative research which will seek to provide information on the scale and nature of needs, as well as effective practices that FE institutions have put in place to address these.

Project

Working Lives Survey

IES, in partnership with Employment Research Ltd, will conduct the Bar Council Working Lives 2020 survey. IES/ERL will survey barristers using details form the Bar Council’s database, and will analyse the survey responses to provide the latest picture of working conditions in the Bar, and in particular identifying differences between the employed and self-employed Bar, by key demographic and employment situation variables, and looking at changes over time by making comparisons with the earlier surveys.

Project

Language in the Early Years

IES will be working with both The Sutton Trust and the University of Oxford to act as a critical friend in developing two early years projects aiming to improve language and communication through working with speech and language therapists. We will be carrying out theory of change workshops, case studies, telephone interviews and monitoring and evaluation support.
