Review of the National Student Survey – Appendix B: The Stakeholder Strand

The National Student Survey (NSS) has run since 2004. The UK higher education funding bodies, which own the survey, commissioned research to review the purposes of the NSS and how effectively it meets them, and to make recommendations for the survey’s future shape. This set of four reports comprises a summary report, literature review and the responses to surveys and discussions with students and stakeholders.

The Youth Contract provision for 16- and 17-year-olds not in education, employment or training evaluation

The Youth Contract offers additional support for disengaged 16-17 year olds to move into education, training or work with training. This working paper summarises the key findings of an evaluation study on the impacts and social net benefits of the early stages of the Youth Contract, carried out on behalf of the Department for Education by the Institute for Employment Studies.

Impact of coaching on employee well-being, engagement and job satisfaction

The research is an exploratory study into whether employees receiving coaching at work experience any impact on their perceptions of well-being, job satisfaction and engagement at work. The study is unique in its focus on coaching primarily delivered by internal volunteer coaches to a range of managers and non-managers. Previous studies into well-being have tended to focus on top leaders coached by external coaches.
