Emily joins IES as a Research Fellow in October 2023. This follows over a decade in a national charity focused on skills education where she headed up the Operations team as well as leading the Impact and Evaluation team.

Emily’s previous role in Operations gave her many years of direct experience in key organisational roles and included internal policy development, organisational culture and values and leading the internal ED&I group.

Emily’s experience in leading the impact team included working on the development of internal approaches to monitoring and evaluation and also included establishing the longer term Research Strategy for the charity.

Emily has a BA from Bristol University and an M.Phil from Trinity College, Dublin in History. She has also spent 10 years in the publishing industry, as an editor at a university press and later as both a literary agent and an editor of a publishing sector magazine.
