Rachel joined IES as a Research Intern in July 2021 before becoming a Research Fellow in December 2021. Her main interests include inequalities in progression, young people’s transitions from education to employment, precarious employment, the future of work, and adult learning and skills.
Rachel completed an undergraduate degree in World Philosophies and Economics at SOAS, University of London, and a Masters degree in Political Theory at UCL, University of London. For her Masters’ dissertation, she explored the disconnect between theories of equal opportunity for employment and the reality of young people’s opportunities for progression in their careers.

She has experience with conducting and analysing interviews and focus groups, survey analysis, and reporting.
