Dilys RobinsonWith this event, we’re trying out a new format which is somewhat different from our usual IES events.

Feedback from our October conference indicated that our member organisations would like to hear more from IES researchers and consultants about their particular expertise areas. We’re aiming to highlight key themes in these areas, focusing especially on emerging and likely future developments.

We also want to hear from you! IES carries out research, and runs events and action learning sets, for its members, and we’d like to find out more about the areas of HR and people management practice that are of interest to you, and that you would like us to explore further on your behalf.

As we begin, at last, to make our way out of the recession, HR professionals have their eyes on what the future will bring for their businesses. Economic growth may ease some pressures, but will bring new challenges, too.

This event features IES experts, who will focus on key developments in their areas of expertise.

Peter Reilly leads a session on HR transformation, while Valerie Garrow and Dilys Robinson explore the future direction for OD and employee engagement. Penny Tamkin asks if work is getting harder, while Duncan Brown’s focus is on the knotty issue of reward as we emerge from the recession and attempt to tackle pent-up demand for pay increases and career progression.

The day is chaired by Nigel Meager, IES Director, who will offer his thoughts about the labour market and employment policy.

You will have your opportunity to join in the discussion about the important themes for HR, and the areas you would like us to investigate over the next year or two.
