We regularly have opportunities available for suitably qualified people to join us for six months and gain experience as Research Interns. We pay the Living Wage and can offer a range of opportunities to develop research skills and knowledge among a friendly team of staff. We look for people with an undergraduate degree in a social or economic science discipline who can demonstrate some knowledge of and interest in one or more aspects of employment policy or human resource management issues.
We also welcome proactive applications from suitably qualified people to join us as Research Economists. We offer a salary ranging from £29,000 to £35,000, and attractive benefits. Economists at IES conduct quantitative analyses in the fields of employment, labour markets, health, and social policy and input into the design of robust counterfactual impact and economic evaluations, which may be proposed as part of comprehensive evaluation models. Applicants should have excellent academic qualifications in economics or empirical social sciences (preferably at Masters level or higher) and a good understanding of UK employment and social policy and related research evidence.
