A call for evidence: Retaining disabled employees and employees with health conditions

To inform a Labour Market Evidence Programme evidence review, we are asking for published or unpublished evaluations of interventions that seek to improve the retention of disabled employees and employees with health conditions. This includes:

  • What do interventions involve? What are the key mechanisms within interventions?
  • What works for whom?
  • Where the facilitators/barriers to implementation?
  • Are there differences in effectiveness in primary, secondary or tertiary interventions.
  • How cost effective and scalable are interventions?

What evidence are we looking for?

For this review, please share evidence related to employer practices that:

  • Were delivered in the UK or other high-income OECD countries after 1997;
  • have a focus on supporting who are in-work to stay in work, or on short- or long-term sickness absence to return to work, and have a health condition or disability; and
  • have been evaluated.

We ask for submissions to be received by Monday 31 August.
