We have researched what makes for fulfilling and meaningful work for different workforce groups, identifying the key workplace factors and levers that support a positive experience of work. Our work in this area has covered older and younger workers, carers, those with a health condition as well as different occupational and professional groups.
We have also supported leading organisations, sectors and regions with helping to assess what good work looks like in context and help raise awareness of and spread practices that support it. We have also supported employers to design and test interventions aimed at improving the experience of work, for example by shaping and evaluating flexible working arrangements.
At a national level, we have conducted research and have influenced the debate on high performance work practices and more broadly how enlightened HR practices can support workplace productivity and performance.
We have conducted several studies and consulted with employers on performance management approaches and helped shape approaches which are aligned with strategic intent and purpose.
