Adult Career Decision-Making

Qualitative research, for the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, with sixty-five adults who were making career decisions, in order to explore what influenced them in making these decisions, factors that were most important and the sources of advice and support they used and found most helpful. The research was based in five local labour markets and included individuals who had used the National Careers Service through face-to-face, telephone and web-based channels. The research also covered adults who had not used the National Careers Service when making careers decisions. The sample included 15 interviews with prisoners.
