App for Social Action evaluation

Conducting a mixed methods evaluation of Apps for Good's App for Social Action course. Aims are to develop and refine Apps for Good's theory of change and approach to monitoring and data collection, to support Apps for Good to move beyond the measurement of short-term outcomes to measuring long-term outcomes, and to provide independent, formative feedback to feed in learning for ongoing improvement of the App for Social Action course. This will be done through a review of programme documentation, scoping interviews with Apps for Good staff, advice and support to refine existing apporach to data collection, interviews with participating teachers, a student survey, online focus groups with teachers, analysis of management information, and the scoping and implementation of an impact evaluation anticipated to follow a propensity score matching approach using National Pupil Database pupil level data.
