Evaluation of Mentoring Professional Development Programmes: Privacy Notice
In this privacy notice for research participants, we explain the legal basis for data processing for the evaluation of the Mentoring Professional Development Programmes. This includes who will have access to your personal data, how your data will be used, stored and deleted and who you can contact if you have a query or a complaint.
What is the legal basis for processing my data?
Processing of data for this project will include sharing some items of personal information with a third-party research partner conducting the research (The Institute for Employment Studies). Who will have access to my personal data?
The Institute for Employment Studies (IES) has been commissioned by the ETF to evaluate the two mentoring professional developments programmes – programme B for new mentors and programme C for experienced mentors. For the purpose of this project, IES are undertaking interviews with mentors who have participated in the mentoring skills training; a short participant survey; interviews with grant leads / senior leadership colleagues of the mentors; interviews with mentees that have been supported by the mentor training participants; interviews with some potential training programme participants who were not able to take in the programme; and interviews with staff from the training delivery organisation.
You will be asked to provide information about your job and organisation, along with your views on how the delivery of the mentoring skills professional development programme has had an impact on your role. You will be asked for your explicit consent to take part in one or more of these research activities. All contributions will be anonymised, and the research team will analyse and present the findings at an aggregate level. The ETF will not see individual responses to the evaluation.
How will my data be treated?
If you are invited and choose to take part in an interview or survey research, the data you give will be used for research purposes only. IES will produce a report that summarises the main findings from all research activities. Individuals will not be named, nor will any information be included that could reveal their identity.
Your personal information will be securely deleted from the IES systems six months after the project is complete and the final report has been published (the project is currently estimated to end in March 2021).
Who can I contact if I would like to withdraw my interview data?
You have the right to withdraw the information you have provided as part of the interviews or survey research within fourteen (14) days of the date when it was collected. If you have taken part in the research but would like your data withdrawn, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
