Evaluation of Workstart Pilots

It provided employers with a subsidy for one year of £2,340 for each long term unemployed person they took on. Four pilot schemes were set up in Spring 1993, in Tyneside, Devon and Cornwall, East Kent and South West London, to test the effectiveness of this approach.
