This report presents a selection of findings from IES' survey of barristers on behalf of The Bar Council, conducted in partnership with Employment Research Ltd. Focusing on three areas of the findings from the 2017 Working Lives survey, it explores the prevalence and nature of reports of harassment, bullying and discrimination.

The report follows the publication of Barristers' Attitude to their Working Lives and focuses solely on these three behaviours. Key findings include insights on how both reports and 'observations' of bullying have risen since the 2013 and 2011 Working Lives surveys, as well the diversity of experiences of Barristers working in different practice areas. The report also identifies that gender discrimination in comparison to other forms of discrimination, harassment or bullying.
