The impact and effectiveness of leadership development activities for senior leaders
Working in partnership with Ipsos MORI, the Institute for Employment Studies has been appointed to evaluate the first three years of the National Leadership Centre (NLC), a centre set up to support the development of public sector senior leaders. To contribute to the development of the theory of change underpinning the overall evaluation, this rapid evidence review was commissioned to explore the evidence on the outcomes and impact of public sector leadership development programmes. The review specifically aims to understand the impact of:
- networks and networking
- peer-to-peer learning
- other delivery methods
- senior leadership development on productivity and other employees (“trickle-down”)
