This paper sets out practical proposals to ensure that young people are supported during the current crisis and can share in the economic recovery.  We know that young people are likely to be disproportionately affected by this crisis, and that prolonged periods out of work will have lasting negative impacts on their wellbeing, health, incomes and future employment.

The paper has been written jointly by Youth Employment UK, the Youth Futures Foundations, Impetus, The Prince’s Trust and IES – who are leading a Youth Employment Group that brings together a range of organisations and stakeholders with an interest in supporting and working with young people.

It calls for, among other things, co-ordination of support across government and partners; effective employment, training and careers support for young people; and a jobs guarantee for those young people reaching long-term unemployment.
