Catherine joined IES as a Research Fellow in January 2019. Her research interests are wide, including wellbeing at work, employee engagement, leadership and senior team effectiveness, international employment trends, and HR function effectiveness. Since joining IES her early work has explored a range of issues including talent pipelines, innovations in recruitment and retention, and supporting people re-joining the workforce after a career break.
Catherine has two Masters Degrees, in Business and in Experimental psychology. The latter involved using a range of quantitative and qualitative research techniques to investigate, analyse and report results on psychological questions. She is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
Previously Catherine worked in a range of HR roles within the international financial and non-profit charity sectors. Her HR experience includes strategic change projects and restructurings, including privatisation and management buyout. She has managed teams to provide strategic and operational HR support within a range of business settings.
