Research Fellow

Making a difference through social research

IES is a leading independent centre of excellence for research and consultancy in public policy, employment and the labour market. We are not-for-profit and a registered charity, with a mission to bring about sustainable improvements in employment policy and human resource management.  We achieve this by increasing the understanding and improving the practice of key decision-makers in policy bodies and employing organisations.

About you

We are looking for a competent and talented researcher. Ideally you’ll have:

■    A good degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. social sciences, psychology, economics) at Masters or higher level.

■    At least two years’ work experience in applied social research; candidates at the upper end of the salary scale will have at least four years’ experience in applied social research.

■    A good understanding of at least one of the priority areas that we specialise in – i.e. employment, labour market, or education, skills and careers policy; with a genuine interest in making a difference to public policy and practice.
