This study containing IES research considers the access of women with disabilities to the labour market, in order to assess how multiple discrimination, in this case gender and disability, affects the employment opportunities of these women. IES, as part of a consortium led by researchers from Instituto per la Ricerca Sociale (IRS), contributed to the research as country experts for the UK section of the study. The UK country report can be read here.

This report contains findings on:

  • the main features of the employment and socioeconomic conditions of women with disabilities;

  • a comparison of the socioeconomic conditions of men and women with disabilities;

  • a summary of the current legal and policy framework in this area, and to what degree it addresses multiple discrimination; and

  • national-level policies and debates, also covered in more detail in the individual country reports.
