Harry has almost seven years’ experience working on and managing research programmes related to employment and skills within a range of independent research organisations including BMG Research and Learning and Work Institute.

Harry has a wide range of qualitative and quantitative skills to explore these issues, with particular experience around skills and workforce development, and employability. He is highly experienced in arranging, conducting and analysing qualitative interviews with a wide range of interviewees, including large-scale evaluations to explore how employability and training programmes have been run, how these work with partners and stakeholders, and the impact the programmes have had on participants.

Harry has also conducted focus groups, including sessions with young people (aged 16-18), jobseekers, and training participants. Harry has also led evidence reviews, particularly around the issues of green skills, quality jobs, and increasing employer investment in skills. He has also analysed management information to complement wider research findings, including a pioneering programme aimed at supporting individuals affected by the pandemic to reskill and change career. He has led and conducted theory-based and impact evaluations, public perception pieces, policy reviews, as well as more general research and insights projects.

At IES, Harry is working on a range of programmes related to skills development and participation in training.
