Evaluation of Healthy Workplace Solutions

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) commissioned IES to assess the effectiveness of specific elements of its Healthy Workplace Solutions intervention. This was designed to encourage a larger number of organisations in seven target sectors to take up the management standards approach for work-related stress, and make improvements in sickness absence management. The intervention aimed to support organisations in achieving a reduction in the number of working days lost to sickness absence, and a reduction in the number of people who report, for the first time, that they have experienced worked-related stress. The evaluation research aimed to involve 10 case studies and a telephone survey of 500 HR managers.
