Getting to Grips with Workforce Planning in Local Government

The Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) for local government encouraged those organisations for whom it provides expertise and support to seriously consider workforce planning. IES supported IDeA in refreshing and improving the tools, techniques and information on workforce planning on its website and to develop training in workforce planning for local authorities. The aim was to help local authorities get to grips with the practicalities of, as well as the ideas behind, workforce planning.
