Evaluation of the Advanced Network Prototypes (ANP)
The Advanced Network Prototypes (ANPs) are part of a new adult advancement and careers service for England, as described in this Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills: http://www.dius.gov.uk/press/documents/5203-1%20DIUS%20Prospectus-20pp%2... They are a partnership between a diverse range of organisations and agencies to unite various strands of advice available (eg benefits, housing, health, careers, employment and learning/training). The ANPs developed 'no wrong door' access to advice and guidance in the run-up to the implementation of the adult advancement and careers service in 2010. IES was commissioned by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) to undertake a process evaluation that tracked the ANPs as they develop, to enable the LSC and its partners to understand the lessons emerging from their implementation. The research comprised longitudinal research with managers, stakeholders and delivery staff in each ANP. In addition, four case studies were planned which would include the views of service users.
