Evaluation of a Dual Local Authority and HSE-Staffed Occupational Health Support Service for SMEs

IES was commissioned to evaluate the provision of a regulator-led advice and support service on occupational health and safety issues for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based in Milton Keynes. The evaluation investigated the effectiveness of partnership working between HSE and Local Authority staff and the appetite of SMEs for a support service provided by regulatory bodies. The evaluation considered a different method of delivery to that used as part of the Workplace Health Connect (WHC) pilot and sought to draw lessons from a comparison of different delivery models.
