Scientific, Technical, Engineering and Mathematical Technicians

IES is undertaking a series of linked secondary data analyses designed to better understand the numbers, dynamics, education and training of STEM (Scientific, Technical, Engineering and Mathematical) technicians. The study is designed in part to determine the replacement demand for STEM technicians as older workers retire or otherwise cease to work as a STEM technician. At the same time the study aims to get a better idea of the demographic characteristics of the supply of STEM technician qualifications.
