Workplace Health Gets a Boost for SMEs in Wales

The HSE commissioned IES to evaluate a new pilot service aimed at providing free and impartial advice on workplace health to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based in Wales. 'Workboost Wales' was a joint initiative between the Welsh Assembly Government and the HSE, aimed at improving access to support on occupational health, safety, absence management and lifestyle issues for SMEs in Wales. The service was, in large part, a continuation of 'Workplace Health Connect' but with a slightly different delivery model and with links to services provided by the Welsh Assembly Government such as 'Healthy Minds at Work' and 'Welsh Backs'. The evaluation assessed the possibility of delivering a broad range of support to SMEs via the delivery model employed.
