Evaluation of the Careers Leader Training: Qualitative Research

The Government’s Careers Strategy (2017) called for all schools in England to have a Careers Leader - CEC is offering 1,300 bursaries to train them. This evaluation will assess the effectiveness of the Careers Leader training in increasing the knowledge and skills of Careers Leaders and in helping schools to meet the Gatsby benchmarks.

We will conduct desk research of course information including modules and learning aims. We will conduct telephone interviews with all 14 training providers, 50 Careers Leaders and 25 of their senior leadership team colleagues. We anticipate using Kirkpatrick and COM-B to understand the outcomes and impacts of the training for all relevent parties. CEC will provide analysis of a skills audit survey.
