Knowledge Knibbles: The HR function

Reading the press you would think that Ulrich is the only model in town. But is a three legged stool (centres of expertise, shared services and business partners) the right one for you? To answer this question you need to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the model and what other options are available to you.

In broad terms, large and complex organisations might benefit from ‘Ulrich’ style structures, but adaptation rather than adoption, nonetheless, should be the watchword. You should adjust the model to suit your particular circumstances. Smaller organisations, especially those operating from a single site, should consider simpler HR structures.

This session is your chance to learn about how to assess your needs as a function to deliver efficient and effective services, and give you the means to assess what would work best for you. It is just as relevant if you have already made some structural changes, but want to review them, as it is if you are yet to embark on an HR transformation journey.
